Ingredients
1 pound butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
3 Tablespoons Cogniac
10 ounces Walnuts or almonds
3—4 cups AP flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
Toast and ground the almonds or the walnuts
Butter at room temp
Cream butter 20 minutes until white.
Add the powdered sugar,.
Add egg yolks, cognac, walnuts.
Slowly add the flour and baking soda.
The dough should be smooth and silky, not sticky or dry.
Shape into 1 x 1 1/4” or crescents.
Bake at 350˚F for 10 12 minutes.
The cookies should be pale in color, not brown.
Let them cool slightly, then sift powdered sugar and dip the cookies into the sugar one at a time, covering entire cookie.
