Kourabiethes

Ingredients
  • 1 pound butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 Tablespoons Cogniac
  • 10 ounces Walnuts or almonds
  • 3—4 cups AP flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions
  • Toast and ground the almonds or the walnuts
  • Butter at room temp
  • Cream butter 20 minutes until white.
  • Add the powdered sugar,.
  • Add egg yolks, cognac, walnuts.
  • Slowly add the flour and baking soda.
  • The dough should be smooth and silky, not sticky or dry.
  • Shape into 1 x 1 1/4” or crescents.
  • Bake at 350˚F for 10 12 minutes.
  • The cookies should be pale in color, not brown.
  • Let them cool slightly, then sift powdered sugar and dip the cookies into the sugar one at a time, covering entire cookie.
