Krebs Brownies

Ingredients
  • 1 stick salted butter

  • 2 squares chocolate

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  • Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 2 cups Confectioner’s sugar

  • 1 to 1/3 cup Tablespoon cocoa

  • Coffee for thinner

  • (Or 3 T milk)

Directions
  • In a sauce pan, melt butter and chocolate.
  • In a mixing bowl blend in the sugar and the chocolate mixture.
  • Add beaten eggs, one at a time.
  • Add the flour and the salt, mixing until just blended.
  • Add the vanilla and fold in chopped nuts.
  • Bake in an 8” square pan at 350˚f for 1/2 hour.
  • While the brownies are baking prepare the frosting.
  • Melt butter. Add in cocoa powder and whisk until smooth.
  • Add in 2 cups of confectioners sugar and milk or coffee
  • Whisk until smooth and frost right away otherwise it will harden.
  • Combine frosting ingredients and frost brownies.
