Lil’s Baked Goulash

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni

  • 1 (15 ounce ) can tomato sauce

  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes

  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 teaspoons dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoons dried basil

  • 1 bay leaf

  • Pinch of dried thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Optional

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until just al dente.
  • Drain the pasta and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium high heat until browned; breaking the meat up into smaller pieces.
  • Add onion and garlic and cook until soft 5-6 minutes.
  • Drain off excess fat.
  • Add the pasta, water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and spices into a casserole dish .

  • Place in 350˚f oven for 30 minutes or until it begins to bubble.
