Meat sauce
(Saltsa me Kima)
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground meat
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of allspice
- 2 Tablespoons of freshly chopped Basil
- 2 cans of pureed tomatoes
- Salt and Black pepper to taste
Directions
- Heat the olive oil in a medium stock pot.
- Gently sauté the minced onions and garlic until transparent and flavorful aroma.
- Add the ground beef and sauté until meat is brown, about 15 minutes.
- Add all the remaining ingredients and simmer covered until meat is soft, about an hour.
