Meat sauce

(Saltsa me Kima)
Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of allspice
  • 2 Tablespoons of freshly chopped Basil
  • 2 cans of pureed tomatoes
  • Salt and Black pepper to taste
Directions
  • Heat the olive oil in a medium stock pot.
  • Gently sauté the minced onions and garlic until transparent and flavorful aroma.
  • Add the ground beef and sauté until meat is brown, about 15 minutes.
  • Add all the remaining ingredients and simmer covered until meat is soft, about an hour.
