Our Sunday Ice-Cream Sundaes with Chocolate Sauce

When my dad was a Deacon at Second Presbyterian Church, Sunday’s he would go to church while my mom and I curled up on the couch, watch old TV movies, like Ma and Pa Kettle eating ice-cream with chocolate sauce with loads of peanuts! Good Times!
Ingredients
  • ¾ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup brewed coffee
  • 16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • Vanilla or your favorite ice-cream
Directions
  • Bring heavy cream and ½ cup coffee to a LOW boil in medium saucepan.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add chocolate and ground cinnamon.
  • Stir until chocolate is melted and sauce is smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Either serve the sauce warm or cold over your choice of ice-cream flavor
  • Top with Spanish peanuts.

  • Let the syrup cool before refrigerating in an airtight glass jar. The syrup will keep in the refrigerator about 4 weeks. If you notice a film on top, discard immediately.
